New 2026 Model John Deere X147R Ride-On Lawn Mower

Updated for the 2026 model year, the X147R now comes equipped with LED headlights for improved visibility when mowing in low-light conditions. The John Deere X147R petrol ride-on mower is a reliable, perfect for gardens up to 1.5 acres.

At its core is a 656cc,16.6-horsepower twin-cylinder air-cooled engine, delivering strong and consistent performance for medium-sized lawns.

The 36-inch rear discharge deck features two counter-rotating blade spindles that efficiently lift and direct grass clippings up the centre chute and into a spacious 300-litre hopper. A spring-assisted, hand-operated height-of-cut lever offers 13 cutting positions, adjustable from 1 to 3.5 inches. Blade engagement is controlled via an electromagnetic clutch, providing smooth and precise operation.

The hydrostatic transmission delivers seamless control with infinite ground speeds—up to 5.2 mph forward and 3 mph in reverse. Twin Touch™ pedals allow for intuitive operation and quick direction changes.

Thanks to its tight turning radius, the X147R is highly manoeuvrable around trees, flower beds, and other garden obstacles. High-quality steering components ensure light, responsive handling for a comfortable mowing experience.

A front bumper is available as an optional accessory, offering added protection when working around hard landscaping features. For those who prefer mulching, an optional mulch kit—including a mulch plug and dedicated blades—is also available, allowing fine clippings to be returned to the lawn to improve soil health and appearance.

The X147R is backed by a 2-year standard domestic warranty, extendable to 3 years when serviced by an authorised John Deere dealership (T&Cs apply).
